| Youth Services |
The Salvation Army's Youth department focuses on the special needs of children - from toddlers to teenagers. While the work of the department is evenly split between Corps (church-based) and social service to disadvantaged youth, the primary method of delivering services to youth is through our camps.

| Addictions & Treatment |
Treating the Whole Person -- Mind, Body and Soul
For more than 50 years, The Salvation Army has been on the front line providing addictions treatment services. The Christ-centered 12-step addictions treatment program currently in place grew and developed out of the Army’s early focus on meeting people at their point of need. The Addictions Treatment Program exists to assist clients to make positive choices leading to a life-changing experience and the rediscovery of their personal potential. While this program is tailored to meet the individual needs of its clients, it includes three standard components:
Phase 1: Intake and Assessment Orientation – Clients are assessed (physically, socially, psychologically, and spiritually) and an individual treatment plan and goals are created.
Phase 2: Active Treatment – Clients begin a Christ-centered twelve-step program based on Alcoholics Anonymous targeting, but not limited to, addictions to alcohol, drugs and gambling. The program includes counseling in individual and group settings, social re-orientation, inter-active instruction, anger and stress management, life skills classes, family violence counseling, Bible studies, spiritual counseling and guidance.
Phase 3: Stepping Out and Aftercare Services – After completing their treatment program, clients are counseled on relapse prevention, exit planning, life skills training, community re-integration and the implementation of a follow-up support system.

| Emergency Disaster Services |
|
For over 100 years, The Salvation Army disaster response teams comprised of trained officers, employees and volunteers, have served whenever there is hardship, natural or manmade disasters, or an emergency situation. They are there to assist the victims and the emergency workers – either locally, nationally or internationally by providing mobile feeding, shelter, spiritual minsitry and distribution of supplies. The Salvation Army disaster response teams are one of the first to arrive, and the last to leave. Our assistance is long term - through the critical disaster phase and long after the tragedy rebuilding towns, families and lives. In the greater spectrum of things The Salvation Army assisted the victims of the Honduran and Nicaraguan disasters, the Manitoba Flood, Eastern Canada’s Ice Storm and Hurricanes Katrina & Rita.
