Stampeders Host Annual Coat Drive For The Salvation Army
![]() |
On October 1st, 2011, The Calgary Stampeders hosted their annual Coat Drive for The Salvation Army. Fans and supporters were asked to bring new or gently used winter coats and donate them at any of the entry gates of the stadium. This year, the Calgary Stampeder Outrider cheerleaders have joined forces with the Stampeders and have been collecting coats for donation in addition to the collection at the Coat Drive and, for three years now, The Calgary Academy Grade 12 Humanities Class volunteered with the coat collection at the gates; both did an amazing job! In addition to the coat collection at every gate, as well as monetary donation collections, The Salvation Army Glenmore Temple Band was present to play the National Anthem on the field and did a wonderful job, as always! A great presence for The Salvation Army in the community creating awareness for those less fortunate as the cold weather approaches. |
