8th Annual Kettle Kick-off Luncheon in Calgary
![]() |
The Salvation Army’s annual Christmas Campaign raises funds to support Calgary’s less fortunate and impoverished families at Christmas, and throughout the upcoming year. Our $1 million goal for the 2011 Christmas Campaign will be used to fund the following Community Services programs in Calgary: |
Community Support Services: Assists families year round in dealing with the root cause of poverty by providing housing supports, infant essentials, backpacks for kids, coats for kids, emergency food assistance, income tax services and referrals to other community assistance programs.
Family Christmas Assistance Program: Provides warm clothing and toys for low income families.
Employment & Education Resource Services: Assists low-income Calgarians who are un-employed and/or under-employed, looking to secure new or additional employment opportunities.
Healthy Families: Provides in home support to struggling families with newborns up to age 2.
Pregnant & Parenting Resource Centre: Provides emotional support, counseling and assistance for parents in developing stronger parenting skills.
Concluding the luncheon, attendees were encouraged to help generate funds for the Campaign by taking one of the tabletop kettles back to their place of business. A great attendance for another successful luncheon to kick off the Campaign, with a goal of $1 million, to bring food, clothing and much needed dignity to vulnerable children and families in the community.
